“Make your fingers look hungry!” That was one of the many directions Autumn Browne received as an actress and model during her career — movies, stand-up comedy, and more than 20 commercials. Now beginning her 19th year teaching Drama at Brookhurst Junior High in Anaheim, Autumn also directed The Outsiders at La Mirada Performing Arts Center (casting four of her students), directed Tom Sawyer at La Habra Depot (casting 13 of her students), and acted in Women Behind Bars at Stages (not inviting any of her students!). In 2011, she received The Visionary Award from the Chance Theatre for her work with young actors. She is on the Board of Directors for New Voices Playwrights Theatre, and serves on the Event Committee for the Anaheim Performing Arts Center Foundation, whose mission includes building a performance space in Anaheim. She is married to playwright Michael Buss.
